1. Summary in plain language

ToDo For Kids is a chore and routine app for children, set up and supervised by a parent or guardian.

We do not collect, store, or receive any personal data. Everything you enter — your child’s name, avatar, optional date of birth, tasks, stars, and the parent PIN — stays on your device. It is never uploaded to us, and we have no servers that receive it. There is no account, no sign-up, and no login.

The only data that ever leaves the device is what Google’s advertising and payment services need in order to work, and only in the free, ad-supported version. That is described in sections 5 and 6.

2. Who this app is for

The app is designed for children, but it is set up and managed by an adult. The parental area is protected by a PIN. By installing the app and entering any information about a child, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they consent to the processing described in this policy on the child’s behalf.

Children should use the app under adult supervision.

3. What information the app stores on your device

All of the following is stored locally, in the app’s private storage (Android AsyncStorage). It is not transmitted anywhere.

What Why Where it lives
Child’s name or nickname To label that child’s section On the device only
Chosen avatar, or a photo selected from the gallery Personalisation On the device only
Date of birth (optional, can be skipped) Only to show a birthday greeting On the device only
Tasks, completions, stars, rewards Core function of the app On the device only
Parent PIN To protect the parental area On the device only
Language and sound settings Preferences On the device only

Photos. If you choose a photo from the gallery as an avatar, the app stores a reference to that image on the device. The photo is never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared with any third party.

Date of birth. This field is optional. It is used for one purpose only: to show a birthday greeting inside the app. It is not transmitted, not used for profiling, and not used for advertising.

Camera and microphone. The app does not use the camera or the microphone. These permissions are explicitly removed from the app’s manifest.

4. What we, the developer, receive

Nothing. 4D Studio operates no servers for this app and receives no personal data from it. We cannot see your child’s name, photos, tasks, or progress.

If you write to us by e-mail, we will of course see the contents of your message and your e-mail address. We use that only to answer you, and we do not add it to any mailing list.

5. Advertising (free version only)

The free version of the app displays a banner advertisement supplied by Google AdMob.

Because this app is directed to children, we configure AdMob so that every ad request is marked as:

With these settings Google serves only non-personalised, family-appropriate ads from networks certified for the Google Play Families programme. No personalised or interest-based advertising is served to users of this app, and no advertising identifier is used for profiling.

To deliver even a non-personalised ad, Google receives limited technical information such as the device type, coarse location derived from the IP address, and the app version. This processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller. See Google’s policies:

Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Before any ad is requested, the app asks Google’s User Messaging Platform whether consent is required, and requests no advertising until it answers.

Because every request from this app is marked as coming from a user below the age of consent, Google’s platform reports that no consent form is required and presents none. This is by design: a child cannot consent to personalised advertising, so it is never offered and never served. Only non-personalised advertising is delivered.

Should Google’s platform ever report that consent or privacy options are required for this app, the app already displays the form, withholds all ad requests until it is answered, and offers a way to reopen those settings from the “About” screen.

Purchasing the full version removes advertising entirely, and with it this category of data sharing.

6. Purchases

The full version is a one-time in-app purchase (US$ 4.95, or the equivalent in your local currency).

Payment is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or receive your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail. We receive only an anonymous confirmation from Google Play that a purchase for this app exists, which the app uses to switch off advertising.

Refunds are handled under Google Play’s refund policy: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637

7. Notifications

If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on the device itself. No push server is involved, no device token is generated, and nothing is sent over the internet. Reminders can be switched off at any time in the parental area.

8. Analytics and tracking

The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no social network SDK, and no tracking pixels. We do not build profiles of users and we do not sell or share personal information. There is nothing to opt out of, because there is no tracking to begin with.

9. How long data is kept, and how to delete it

Because all data is stored on your device, you are in full control of it:

We cannot delete this data for you, because we never receive it. Once it is removed from the device it cannot be recovered.

10. Children’s privacy

This app is intended to comply with:

Because the app collects no personal information and transmits none to us, there is no data for a parent to request access to, correct, or have deleted from our systems. Parental control over the data is exercised directly on the device, as described in section 9.

If you believe a child has provided personal information in a way not described here, please contact us at contact@4d-studio.dev.

11. International use

The app is available worldwide. Since no personal data is transmitted to us, there is no international transfer of personal data by 4D Studio. Any transfer carried out by Google in connection with advertising or payments is governed by Google’s own policies and safeguards.

12. Your rights

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or a comparable law applies, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection with respect to personal data held about you.

As explained above, 4D Studio holds no such data. To exercise these rights in relation to data processed by Google for advertising or payments, please use Google’s own tools and contact channels.

For anything else, write to contact@4d-studio.dev and we will respond within 30 days.

13. Security

Data stays in the app’s private storage area, which the Android operating system isolates from other applications. The parental area is protected by a PIN chosen by the parent. Please note that a PIN is a simple barrier intended to keep a child out of the settings — it is not a security measure against a determined adult, and it does not encrypt the stored data.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where the change is significant, we will note it in the app’s release notes. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
